I just bought Dino Danger Pack for my son's Zoo Tycoon 2 game, but when I try
to run the DDP installer, I get the following error:

Error: Access violation at 0x77C46FA3 (tried to read from 0x00F4E2E0),
program terminated.

This kept on happening every time -- even after I shut down all programs and
restarted the computer.

My son's computer is running XP Home with SP2.

My problem with the Dino Danger Pack installer was caused by Data Execution
Prevention being enabled. (See the "Performance" options under the
"Advanced" properties when you right-click on "My Computer".)

Curiously, turning off Data Execution Prevention (i.e., turning it on for
essential Windows programs and services only) didn't help. I had to use the
"all except" option and select the Dino Danger Pack installer explicitly as a
program for which DEP was turned off.

Not only that, but simply turning off DEP for the installer "launch" program
wasn't enough. I ended up disabling DEP for all the executables in the
installer folder; after doing that, I was able to install the Dino Danger
Pack without getting an error.
