correct type... anyone have any suggestions on which card I should get her?
I was looking at the read me and suggestions, but it really seems
confusing.... some will work but have other problems etc.... and please, no
$300 suggestions.. LOL

I will head over and read the reviews... I just bought her a SoundBlaster
digital sound card... I gave her my old computer that I had used awhile,
turned into a server, and then bought a 'real sever'
Looks like I am putting together a nice game machine for her now... Zoo
Tycoon is the ONLY game I ever bought myself, or played for that matter, and
now it seems that my Granddaughter is quite the Zoo Tycoon fan herself, so I
bought the 3D version and was quite disappointed when it didn't run...
Thank you all for the guidance... gaming is way out of my league.. I keep
myself busy banging my head against the wall running Small Business Server
and SP1 <LOL> the ultimate adventure game...

I have an eVGA Nvidia GeForce 5700LE. Definitely not top of the line but
the best I could afford; it can be overclocked and it runs everything I have
on my computer very well. You can pick up that one or something similar
pretty cheap on eBay (about $100 or less), but if you don't want to go that
route they shouldn't be terribly expensive at the stores.

eVGA Nvidia GeForce 5700LE sounds good to me... thank you very much for a
'working example'

You're welcome. :-)

You don't necessarily have to look for the eVGA brand; there are a lot of
Nvidia-based cards out there.
