Discussion:
Problem with Show Tanks (ZT Complete)

I recently purchased Zoo Tycoon Complete for my daughters. We recently
built a Show Tank that was connected to both Bottlenose Dolphin and
Orca. Everything seemed to be going fine until after the first Orca
show, at which point the Orca exited the Show right into the Dolphin
tank, whereupon he rapidly killed the dolphins.

I had a saved version of the game, reloaded it and tried playing around
with it, and this happens consistently.

Is there something I could have done to prevent this (aside from
separate show tanks)? Only thing I can think of is that -- since my
zoo is financially under water ;-) -- the Orca doesn't have any show
toys.

Will getting the Orca toys solve the problem? More marine specialists?
Or is this a bug?

Thanks!

I wouldn't connect two different animals to same show tank because you would
have two entrances and exits and you need for the program to have the
animal(s) enter and exit the show tank through the same location. I doubt it
is a bug just logic reaction of the program. You could try the toys but I'm
sure the reaction would be the same.

Thanks for your reply.

A couple of unofficial FAQs I saw said that it's possible to share show
tanks, so I did it. To me, it makes sense that you could share a show
tank because in "real life" the Marine Specialist would be controlling
which gates are open, so the show animal would have no choice but to
return to the proper tank. It looked like a good way to save
investment dollars.

But looking at various "official" Hints and Tips, I see no mention of
sharing show tanks ... so I guess it's not fair for me to call it a bug
;-).

Cheers,
K
