zoo tycoon asks for indeo codec (pay extra 14.95 $)

I have just installed (the official zoo tycoon). Installing seemed to go
well.
After starting the game, I only get a black screen and below is a screen
telling me to get indeo codec.
At that site i should pay additionally 14.95 $ to get this.

This gets me really mad.

I am using
Windows XP Home edition, Pentium 4 2,4 GHz , 256 MB RAM, 128MB Video

Is there another way (besides from returning the product) to get ZOO Tycoon
