I have just setup a new computer and installing my favorite games. I've
finally got round to installing the Zoo Tycoon II collection and everything
was fine. I then noticed that there was an update that I didn't seem to
have. Downloaded and attempted installation. It said that the game wasn't
installed. Its installed via the Express Option into the default directory
along with all updates. The game plays fine but for the life of me I can't
see why it won't update. All I can think of is that it needs to be
rebooted before it will register the installation. Will get back to you
tomorrow if that resolved it. In the mean time ... anyone else had this
problem and if so .. was it resolved ?

I guess no-one else has come across this yet. It sounds similar to the
problem installing African Adventure but I had no problems with that. Why
would I get the problem with a little download of an update - hehe

Did you download and then install the update manually or did you click on
Run when clicking on the download file? If clicking Run, your antivirus
software may inadvertently corrupt the installation. Download the file to
your desktop, run the game first, briefly, then close the game and double
click the update patch. If you install the game, but don't run it first,
the game may fail to create a configuration file that the update patch may
need.

d'oh .. thought you had it there but nope ..

Downloaded file and tried running from outside the game folder and inside
the game folder with and without antivirus running. But still the same
problem. Game has been played last night and I literally just tried it again
now. No luck.

Well I guess I'll have to wait until the next patch comes along and see if
that works. This problem must be just something with my copy of the game
although I did check for the ubisoft logo but couldn't find one. Oh well I'm
sure I'll cope until I can download a patch.
